Boho Vow Renewal | The Powell Home and Barn at Comeback Farms

Last summer, I worked on a big project that included two fully styled mock weddings on the same day. I wanted two completely different styles at the same venue to show off the versatility of a barn venue. Take a peek at the video from the Boho Vow Renewal at The Powell Home and Barn at Comeback Farms.

The railroad ties at The Powell Home and Barn at Comeback Farms serve as the perfect dance area under their market lights that were installed in Summer 2020. It's also a perfect spot for an al fresco intimate reception.

When I first started my business in January 2019, I was dying to ask a gal who not only is beautiful but also a kind-hearted distant friend, to model for a photoshoot. I have known Whitney for about 15 years. We went to church together and went to the same high school (as did her husband, Trey). I thought it would be super weird to blindly reach out to Whitney after years of no contact (outside of Facebook), so I didn't ask her.

Fast forward a year and a half later, I was working on this big project. I posted on my personal Facebook that I was looking for a couple to model. I got a huge response from many friends. Much to my surprise, guess who messaged me?! Whitney did!

I envisioned a bohemian style wedding. I kept coming back to this thought of a felt Panama-style hat with a gorgeous wedding gown. The reason why is probably because Whitney has posted pictures in this now-infamous-to-me hat! Give me all the cremes, tans, neutrals and a brunette bride.

This is the hat that sparked my interest for the"boho" themed shoot. Wilmington-based florist, Designs by Amber Lanier adorned the hat with the stellar flower band.

Since Whitney and Trey were already married, I thought we could use this as a vow renewal shoot. With their precious miracle, Lottie, in tow, the couple recited their vows to each other from their own wedding. It was such a beautiful day to be a part of.

Without further ado, here is the video from Sage and Sundries, a Wilmington, NC videographer that captured the efforts of so many talented vendors. I hope you enjoy this creative piece of work.

"clearly quite biased -- but, so so so beautiful & it captured our love so so so well"
